Re: Worth buying?
No imo, but that's perhaps just me, i tried it and got disappointed bad. The playing engine is not very advanced imo, it's the Aurora engine that powers Neverwinter Nights and that engine does not handle one of these games very well. They promised action filled fights with a "Innovative Real Time Combat" system, but it's just based on timing your mouseclicks. and it annoyed me like hell that you could not "shortcut" on a stair for example, you could not jump into the stair from the side, you had to start from the beginning of the stair.fratze wrote:www.thewitcher.com Anyone that have played the game or know something about it?
Things like that annoy me as hell, but as i said maby it's just me, a friend of mine got hooked BAD. And i just played for like an hour or so.
But hey it got 8.5 on GameSpot, and it have a "non linear gameplay" witch is always good, and it's very pretty to look at too and you play a Witcher witch is some kind of cool elite/mage/alchimist warrior dude
My summary is that i like the type of game and that you play an elite witcher, and that it's non linear gameplay that you dont have to follow the storyline, you can make sidetrips witch is always nice!. I liked the type of game, the type of character you play, and the "darkness" of the game, but i just loathed the engine it ran on.
