Since notes tend to get shredded or just lost I'll jot it down here, in part for personal reference but also a nice hint to any Melee Guy.

I want to us a Brutal Earthstorm: http://www.wowhead.com/?item=25899
"+3 Melee Damage & Chance to Stun Target", a 1% stun chance.

In order to use that I need 5 red, 5 blue and 5 yellow gems in my outfit.
Weapons count for that too but that's a recipe for disaster if you upgrade or swap them for some combat/tactical related reason.

In order to minimize the amount of sockets to use, you can use combo gems like purple, orange and green ones that count as one of the main color they're mixed from.
So a purple counts as a red as well as a blue one.

In order to get the desired of 5x5x5 I see...
2xOrange, 2xPurple, 2xGreen. I have then left one of red, yellow and blue.
I'll prefer to take another Purple jewel, which leaves another yellow one.

The following I'll take.
3xSovereign Nightseye (Purple, 4STR/6STA)
2xJagged Talasite (Green, 4CRIT/6STA)
2xInscribed Noble Topaz (Orange, 4CRIT/4STR)
1xRigid Dawnstone (Yellow, 8 HIT)

A total of 8 sockets used to match the 15 colored jewels required for Brutal Earthstorm.

The above cocktail of jewels yield, in jewels, a total of...
30 Stamina
20 Strength (40 ATT equivalent for Shaman, Warrior and Paladin)
16 Crit Rating
8 Hit Rating

The metagem provides +3 damage to damage dealt.
This would equal, with a 1.3 speed weapon, ~2.3 dps or 32 attack power.

Only the Gloves, Chest, Helm and Shoulders of "Desolation Battlegear" have sockets; 5 reds and 3 yellows.
This works out perfectly, sticking the Greens in the yellow sockets of the chest and the last Yellow one on the yellow socket of the helmet.
The rest of the gems you can dump in the red sockets since Orange and Purple all count as valid in those sockets.
That way you squeeze out some socket bonusses.

9/2 Shamans being looked into
The Shaman class is definitely being looked at. The developers are currently looking into Elemental threat and sustainability (mana efficiency).

Yes atm we got 4 hungry shamans thats wanna raid wouldnt be fair to not rotate tbh.. As i can see now on the raid calendar we will soon get a 2nd grp going.. And for the setup of the raid 1 shaman is needed. So lets just go whit 1 and rotate every reset? Im up for that atleast :)
nu ska vi testa om det går att åka segway på kullersten.

ok so we can rotate 2 shaman for every group?

eg: mandra and seimor rotate for 1 group and me and sneek for the other group.
