New talent for mages:
Spell power: Increase critical strike damage bonus of all spells 25%/50% (arcane tree)

Perhaps that helps a bit against the imba locks in TBC.

The critical strike damage bonus will be increased by 50%.

If I read the description for Frost correctly (and the Shaman equivalent) it's an increase of 100%.
So, the above spell power will only make Arcane spells crit for 75% more damage instead of 100%.
It'll still be lacking compared to fire.

So: 500 arcane hit will crit for 875 instead of the regular 750.

You can combine Spell Power with Frost but you're looking at an awfully wonky build then.

Empowered Arcane Missiles, imo, still don't make sense.
They used to before they bumped up the other Empowereds, but even now it doesn't add up.

I had a cat but i gave that cat to my parents when i moved to big loud city on high floors
A few days ago that cat ran away for a week and my parents and me got worried, tho this sunday it returned home with a broken leg.

Imagine that u have 600 dmg, which will ofc be a piece of cake in tbc, 45% of that is almost 900 dmg on arcane missles, 30% extra crit on clearcasting, which in anycase will be the main reason u cast it in the first place, and 50% extra crit dmg.

arcane missles will rock ur socks...... in pve that is :p
