I wasn't aware rogues get an innate 20% threat reduction? Anyone able to shed some light on this? What ways of reducing threat do other classes have?
Rogue: 20% innate threat reduction. Feint, Vanish. Complete threat wipe.
Hunters: Feign Death, 30 second cooldown. Complete threat wipe.
(DPS)Warriors: 20% innate threat reduction while in Battle Stance and Berserker Stance.
(DPS)Priests: 45% threat reduction on shadow spells through talents.
(Feral)Druids: Cower. (lol)
Mages: 30% threat reduction in Frost or Fire, depending on your spec.

no this is a common missconseption as i understand it.
rogues dont have natural 20 reduction this is a bastard child of the "you need to outdmg the tank with x depending on spec etc" and "warrriors have 20% natural reduction in stances like battle and serker"
so the rogues reduction is only viable if the tank isnt specced in defiance and the rogue isnt using feint.
warrriors have an extra aggrox0.80 modifier that doesnt apply to other classes/stances

Well, I agree with you. I hadn't heard of it earlier either. But on the other hand, the author seems pretty well informed, and he already lists the warrior modifiers you mention, so I'm still not 100% sure if he is correct or not.Morlog wrote:no this is a common missconseption as i understand it.

well this also has something to do with a strange mechanism where you can be slightly above the tank in threat and aggro still not shifting untill youre over 10% or something
as its way easier to grabb aggro from a warrior as a rogue then a fellow warrior i have to disagree about the rogues having a x0.8 modifier but i have nothing to back this notion up with
