Does the Doomguard summoning still sacrifice a player?
Aside from the Curse of Doom, warlocks also have a class quest to learn the Ritual of Doom, which is a guaranteed way to summon a Doomguard. However, it requires a party of five people to complete the summoning; one of the five will take a large hit to their health pool as a sacrifice. The quests are given by Daio the Decrepit in the Tainted Scar, the southwest area of the Blasted Lands where elite demons reside.

The Doomguard is a demonic minion available to the Warlock at level 60 through the spell Curse of Doom. It can also be gained through Ritual of Doom. However, enslaving the Doomguard can be a dangerous operation. It is the last pet after the Infernal, without 41 points in the Demonology talent tree. To summon a Doomguard, a Demonic Figurine can be purchased (purchasable at reagent vendors for 1g each. With Exalted reputation the price drops to 80s ).

I might take cataclysm first since we need about 368 hit rating for mobs that are L83+
Hit Rating
Originally posted in the combat rating thread with 26.23199272 hit rating required for each percentage of hit required.

Hit rating caps at level 80
Mob level Hit
80 105
81 132
82 158
83 +446

Reduces by:
3% for Moonkin or Shadow priest
1% for Drenai
3% for Suppression or Cataclysm
In a raid for horde this means 368 hit rating to be capped as 0/56/15 and for alliance this means 341 hit rating to be capped as 0/56/15. Hard hit capping is still required due to soul shatter. Without the threat reduction talents, an unlucky demonologist will require this more.

When summoned, 5k damage to a random player. Guaranteed 15m enslave and disappears when duration expires. And it is really good apparently.

Btw Late:
Talent tree respecs 16
Gold spent on talent tree respecs 790G

You never quit respeccing do you? :)

Afaik, Infernal is 1m on a 20m CD; Doomguard is 15m (if summoned by Ritual of Summoning) on a 45m(?) timer.

possible raiding spec:

http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=IZMxcZEchVM0uAsAfct

improved imp? or demonic power? no demonic aegis?
no AoE talents, hows the AoE in pve? still the same usefulness as in BC when it comes to raiding?
well for 10-mans heroics its great, but 25-man?
discuss!
