Main tank of a sunwell guild atm, but I think I'm about done with WoW. Just not holding my interest anymore.
I'm really gearing up for WAR and any time I think of that I remember back to DAoC so I came hunting for SM again. To bad yer all Euro's and they will probably have separate Euro servers again. Miss the old days.

Honestly it wasn't really sunwell, it was a lot of things. I enjoy PVP but the PVP here has no scope. It's boring and repetitive with no meaning and blizzards drive towards e-sporthood is killing half of the game for me. A sorry half of the game at that, but it makes me long for DAoC.
Summer is coming and so will WAR which is also part of it.
Raiding is so time intensive, and I wish for a time when I could log on whenever and grab a couple buddies and go RVR.
I've gotten married since DAoC, but it's cool she plays with me. (yes I corrupted her, she has 4 70's, all in epics and a T6 boomkin)
I can't stand arenas, even though I got all the gear, it's just 2v2 3v3 and 5v5 duels. Meaningless, except the gear is over valued and has no meaning.
But the kicker for me is that I raid what.. 25 hours a week.. to gear a T6 prot warrior with gear I can't use anywhere else. Mages in blues can kill a prot warrior, if I do a 5man I have to take off half my gear. What am I working towards? To get gear I can only use in shattrah or in sunwell? I have to downgear just to tank BT/Hyjal.
I hope this didn't come off as a whine, but thats just my view of why it's not worth it for me anymore. I see WAR coming and I've been on beta leak sites and watching videos and talking to people I know in beta and I have no doubt it will be amazing.

I feel the same about the arena's and you are right that downgrading to do 5 mans etc is retarded.
I have seen WAR and it looks bland and plays very unresponsive so far. Alltho AoC was very bad until a few weeks till release. Give Conan a year and that game might be amazing (it has the potential). Now it has to deal with people that reach max level in a week and have nothing to do I level a necro there but very casual to keep in touch with the game

From what I understand the bland and unresponsive part has a lot to do with everything being set at low settings for standardization during Beta. And in the same regard, a lot of the spell effects and refinements aren't in either which would lead you to become disassociated with your character and for the game to feel unresponsive.
They openly announced they they were doing core mechanics first and that the polish on graphics and spell effects would be last because they are the easiest thing to add.
I have no reason to doubt this because each phase of beta a new layer has been added and things get better and better. And this time around they are listening to their playerbase and making changes accordingly when it's warranted.
As for AOC.. I didn't particularly like the combat. I could have gotten used to it for a great game, but then I ran into 80bajillion zonelines. There is no reason in todays day and age for so many zones. They overreached with their graphics and to compensate and make the game look like that they had to make it very sectional. Just takes me out of the game.
When they talked about AOC they made it sound like Streetfighter controls in a MMORPG. They failed at that.. not saying it was bad, but it wasn't ground breaking in the least. They just gave you directional autoattacks (that aren't auto at all) which makes controlling your character more clunky.
