PALADINS
It's true you know!
Back when I did 3s with Bira and Late there was one particular match (that we won) where Lateralus had this evil laugh that I still remember vividly.
There was a Curse of Tongues on a Paladin healer of his team, and of course the bugger was casting a Holy Light.
While working on my target I gently clicked the focus-earth shock macro that interrupted the Holy Light at 4.8s casttime.
That's when Lateralus laughed.
It was a thing of beauty.
Also it was then that Late expressed his compassion for the 'din class.
Must be f'in frustrating to get that kinda shit on you, just nothing you can do.
(Kind of like being a "kite-friendly" class/talent build!)
It'll be interesting to see what 2.4 brings.

Read that SP's are practicly extinct in 5 vs 5. You can lock down a lock pretty good too he will just survive a bit longer.Skyly wrote:yeah I agree.
I really hate when you're locked down in 5v5 .... when you're facing good players they can basically lock you down until the match is over....
I ain't leaving without your soul and I am sober this time.
I meant when I am playing dragniFenz wrote:Read that SP's are practicly extinct in 5 vs 5. You can lock down a lock pretty good too he will just survive a bit longer.Skyly wrote:yeah I agree.

Although it helps by putting pressure on their dps. That makes healing a whole lot easier

Not to piss on your parade Nerwén, so to speak, but Kalgan the Lead Dev released some Blizzard-made statistics which they keep an eye on (but not use exclusively) when balancing/nerfing/buffing classes.
Now I clipped things a bit for readability, but the numbers are still valid.
Keep in mind, their initial policy was, when their first introduced arenas in Burning Crusade, "2v2 is horribly unbalanced by nature of our class design and we only added it for people who just want to play with their buddy".
Then 3v3 being almost as bad as 2v2 whereas 5v5 had the best balance possible.
Now if you look at the above healer chart;
- Shaman are a little bit overrepresented in the 5s Arena.
- Paladins are a little bit more overrepresented in the 5s Arena.
They both are not popular at all in 2s and 3s which implies they're actually not overpowered.
Hell, with Hunters and Druids being underrepresented in 5s, chances are they'll think Shaman are fine in 5s and it's just a result of those few classes being underrepresented in 5s that Dins and Shams are that high.
I'm telling, Blizz' happy with the way Shaman are working atm.
And so that applies to Paladin as well, given those numbers.
We're balanced and working properly, in their book.
Code: Select all
2v2 3v3 5v5
Druid 276% 184% 80%
Paladin 19% 29% 147%
Priest 113% 164% 185%
Shaman 37% 50% 138%
