its been in the making well before the ps3 was announced.. so a couple of years so far, but given the delays on FF 12 (2.5 years) i wouldnt keep my hopes up on this one being delivered anytime soon.

And Kibs, it's all about a winning concept. Obviously a game with extremely high production value produced by a company with some of the best writers and artists in the business is gonna sell like condoms in a whorehouse. :>

Wether you like it or not you gotta admit that a series with installments in the 20's with most of them being blockbuster hits is doing something right? ;P

FF7 - 8 - 10 and 11 could be labelled as 'blockbusters'. All the other ones did either decent or above average sales-wise (goddamn shame though, 9 was great

Only reason 12 was delayed was because of some internal bullshit at Square, with the result of the lead designer on FFXII calling it quits sometime in the development cycle.

Might be true that i'm totally done with the typical JRPG-kind of game (since these basicly didn't evolve shit over the last decade or so, apart from purtier graphics) after playing a gazillion of those FF clones. However, i can't wait for Eternal Sonata and Blue Dragon :p

Final Fantasy 7 is whitout competition the best Final fantasy game sofar!
FFX was pretty cool aswell but FF7 is still my favorite

Eternal Sonata looks cool, Blue Dragon I find hyped and overexposed, can't wait for White Knight Story. :>
