The main thing you will not notice after 1.9 but they will start testing out randomly is Battlegrounds with groups on other servers. This will make for really, really epic Battlegrounds between the mega-guilds when it is fully implemented. They will also implement a ladder system where Guilds / groups do BattleGrounds in a tournament fashion. There will be a ladder page and you can challenge other guilds to a BattleGround - You beat them and you move up in the ladder and they move down ... It will be huge.

'l33t' guilds will form, win a bunch, then lose, disband cause of the shame, form a new l33t guild with the exact same people / some people from another l33t guild that did the same, storm the ladder again, win some, then lose, disband cause of the shame .. etc etc etc ..

ladder systems suck ass.

But they are popular nevertheless and a staple of Blizzard's previous games as I understood it... Diablo, Diablo2, Starcraft, Warcrafts...

Heck even ClanBase's still operational. Who would've thought.

Will be very fun, imo, to actually face off against other teams again - prearranged!
There's still the option of doing ABs on the fly against various clueless Privates and Corporals.

Personally I'm looking forward to meeting some of the other guilds from other servers, should be interesting to see different styles of play

i think ladders are fun.. maybe im injured from 5 years of starcraft and warcraft3/frozen throne..

it would also be really cool to meet horde guys

That's the natural progression of the pvp part of wow, and it's very good too i think.
