It's a 33% improvement of your Instant Poison proc damage, though.
That's for the L70 top end poison.
20% chance for a 146-194 nature nuke per attack.
Totem adds a flat 65 nature damage on top of the nuke's damage range.
On average that poison nukes for 34 per attack, with assuming 2.0 weapon speed you're looking at a +17 dps effect per weapon; with misses, immunities and resists ignored.
The trinket adds an average of 13 nature damage per attack, or with the 2.0 speed, +6.5 dps per weapon when using Instant Poison.
Assume the trinket and the poison active on two 2.0 speeders and you're looking at +23.5x2 = +47 dps.
Though comparison with attack power is flakey, if you'd pretend your target has 0 armor and resists or immunities you're looking at an equivalent of +91 attack power on the poison trinket if you were only wielding one weapon and thinking autoattack.
So, what IS a good poison to use in raiding instances?
None as in Windfury or Sharpening Stones?
Looks like a good candidate on your offhand though.

Lets take TBC's Instant Poison VII and 2, lets say, swords - 2.6 mainhand and 1.60 offhand. Applying poison on both hands.
With Slice&Dice up, this pair of weapons will hit target ~29 times (11 MH and 18 OF) for 20 second. Offhand proc rate 50% less than mainhand which give us 10%. So for 20 second of trinket duration poisons will land ~4 times, which gives 260 more average damage.
Also lets not forget, that posions can be partially or fully resisted.

Let's say you use a trinket with +AP or something (earthstrike for example) you have to keep in mind that attacks while using such a trinket can also be missed/blocked/dodge'ed/parried. So when calculating the effectiveness of the BWL trinket you should compare it to other trinkets you have when taking a theory in mind that is basd on all attacks/spells landing, to make it a fair comparision imo.
