New GFX card - GTX 260/280 Radeon 4870 reviews inside

Nvidia already dropped prices down hard on gx260/280 a 280 goes around 499 now not every retailer is updated yet though.
I prolly would go myself still with an 4870 though you need an updated bios to fix the fan imo it defaults on earlier bios to max 15% speed you can drop temps 30C down if set at 30%.
SLI versions still have microstuttering problems and i personally wouldnt go for them.

For monitor advise i would still go with an s-pva screen there is a pretty huge difference in price between those and cheaper tn screens but imo s-pva is worth it better colors better/view angles.
I would actually go myself for an 27" version instead of an 24" with the same native res same performance in games as 24" .

24" one:

Oh and zero pixel flaws guarantee added too imo
Also for a whole new pc i would go with 2 solid state disks one for os one for favorite games or both in raid 0 setup:
Major pricereduction just went through on these ones too no reviews yet though from those

Had a Maximus before and was also very nice (easier to tweak if you not into OCÃÂng). Tho I dont think they sell them much anymore. One of the special editions, like mine, had a watercooling mod for the SB.
Complicating is the true path to simplicity.
