Burning Crusade: Level 70 loot.

Post by sneek »

A booming thread already on the US forums about Molten Core, BWL and Naxx in L70 expansion end-game.
Tseric wrote:For clarity, loot accessible at level 70 will exceed the quality of loot accessible currently.

The advantage for players in current tier-3 will be having a bit of an easier time leveling through the initial content.
After that, the current tiers won't really qualify or be comparable as end-game loot.
My emphasis on "won't really qualify". Interesting comment by Tseric somewhere on page 6 that is.
It's a very very politically correct statement in which he mentions that level 60 instances Tier 3 loot (Naxxramas) won't really qualify or be comparable to level 70 instances Tier 3 loot.

Won't really. Nudge, wink.

I'm curious about this as well. will level 67+ world drop blues and quest greens be better then naxx loot? ouch.

Leveling-up gear will begin to replace current end-game raiding gear.

Q u o t e:
You'll never read a straight answer in blue letters. CMs flee before me or sidestep me.

It's tough being so big and strong.

Hold it, Tseric responded after Eyonix.

Personally I'd prefer Tserics explanation which makes perfect sense too.
I still predict that L70 epics from Medivh's Tower will be on par with BWL epics.
Medivh's a 10-man instance.

You build it up from that point on.
Level 70 required blues will probably be right up there with MC epics.

Eyonix' a middleman who doesn't quite understand any aspect of any class let alone the game.

Tseric, however, is a numbercrunching warlock.
I trust him. And his comments.

Personally im hopeing for greens in outlands to be above/better then tier 1 so that lootftw/pow cant raid the lvl 70 instances at the end of outlands within 4 days, but acctually will have to explore outlands first and get upgrades before they can do anything.

i dont think the sets we will have when the expansion comes out will be of much or ANY use when lvl 70.. It just wont cut it. To me that would make the exapansion a "medium upgrade" so to speak.. I believe that the 10 man instance at lvl 70 will stomp, bury and nail that frostbite set of mine 6 feet under.. without a doubt.
Character is what you do in the dark. In gloom i work.

Eyonix got leashed in by his co-workers with a clue and made an additional post in a new thread.
Eyonix wrote:There has been quite a bit of discussion on the boards lately concerning how current end-game gear will be replaced upon leveling in the Burning Crusade and we thought that many of you would appreciate some clarification. The basic idea is that players who have recently obtained level 60 will gain access to immediate upgrades from expansion quests and creatures. Our exact estimates as to when tier 3 gear will become outdated have shifted back and forth somewhat as we continue to tune the expansion, however not dramatically so. While we do anticipate players wearing full tier 3 gear to find some upgrades/sidegrades from new endgame dungeons, the big draw will be in Karazahn and higher.

Please keep in mind that this information is simply meant to provide everyone with some insight into this process, and much like any aspect of game play that's still in development, it's subject to change.
So that implies that Karazahn (10-man instance) might have some sidegrades for Tier 3.
I'm assuming the end-boss or so in Karazahn has these sidegrades; since Ragnaros, Nefarian, C'Thun and Kelthuzad all drop items that are a notch about their own instance average.

That would place all other epic-quality items in Karazahn at around BWL level.
Before you get worried - a lot of BWL items are "kinda nice" but nothing eathshattering aside from maybe the Scarab Trinket, Drake Fang Talisman or something unique like the NAC for Shams.

Remember, BWL is a 40-man L60 instance, Karazahn's a 10-man L70 instance.
BWL is slated to be clearable in 6 hours, Karazahn's slated to be clearable in 22 hours (it has instance lockdown as well, which is quite a daring move and snuff out pugging a 10-man instance).

Personally, based on the way iLevels and item formulae work, I expect L70 blues dropped from 5-man wings and in the world to be roughly equivalent or just slightly superior to the blues you get from ZG currently.

That's a 20-man L60 raid effort compared to doing a non-lockdown 5-man dungeon run.

i thought Karazahn was a lvl 70 instance and that there was a few instances before it?

that makes me read it as sidegrades in instances before Karazahn and upgrades insade it even though its just a 10 man instance.

if its only sidegrades in there i will be truely dissapointed.
