The Dkp system to be used

Post by Mycavycos »

DKP (Dragon Kill Points/Raid points) System

Earning Raid Points

Attendance

You will get 1 RP for signing in to the raid atleast 24 hours beforehand if you come to the raid in time. We are also considering som kind of RP
deduction for not attending raid although you signed on in advance, this is because of the extra trouble you make for the raid leader. But nothing is
decided on this yet.

Random ppl attending raid will be handled in the following way (i know it´s not a perfect sollusion but the best we could think of, we need the random ppl
right now so we will have to make some sacrifice for being able to do MC). If for example there is 8 mages when we drop Lucifron and "Arcanist Boots" drop.
Two of the mages aren´t from our guild(s). Then we roll 1-8, on a 1-2 roll the two outsider mages roll a normal random 1-100 to see who wins. On a 3-8 roll we use
our loot system as normal.

Special Events

Tradeskills

(There may also be a way in the future to contribute to the tradeskill department and earn raid point credit, but for now no points are awarded.)

Raid Point Assignments

Onyxia's Lair: (40 Man)
Onyxia............................1 RP

These points might be increased slightly for first time kills of the bosses, example the first time we defeat Garr everyone get 3 dkp to speed up the dkp aquiring rate since we only defeat three bosses per run as of now. (will have to be discussed)

Molten Core: (40 Man)
Lucifron.........................1 RP
Magmadar.....................1 RP
Gehennas.......................1 RP
Baron Geddon...............1 RP
Garr...............................1 RP
Shazzrah........................1 RP
Golemagg......................1 RP
Sulfron...........................1 RP
Majordomo Executus.....1 RP
Ragnaros........................2 RP

Looting Tier Procedure

Recipes/Tradeskill.............................10 RP
Blue Tier Items..................................10 RP
Purple Tier Items...............................22 RP
Ancient/Artifact Tier Items................59 RP

Special Onyxia Loot
Onyxia's Head (Quest Item)..............22 RP
18 Slot Onyxia Backpack.................10 RP

Spending Raid Points

It's no different from what you're used to folks. The only difference here is that you have to have accumulated enough points to qualify for an item’s tiered /rand roll. You are still subject to general 'Need before Greed' standard policies, so even if you have enough points, a Warrior will never get a dagger with +int on it. The Raid Leader will be (or assign) Master Looter, so that ninja looting is not an issue.

When an item drops, the leaders of the raid will determine what classes can use the item. A clear decision in the case of set items, however discrepancy must be used in determining non-set items. All I can say is be aware of what drops, and be ready with a good judgment. Shaman should not get defensive shields. Warriors should not get mana shields. Rogues should not get mana daggers. Casters should not get attack bonus daggers. It’s a fine line we walk here. Be freakin’ careful. Members should also be aware of what drops, and they will be. I would advise members not to waste their raid points on the second best drop, especially if the second best drop for their class is the best drop for another class.
When the class qualification for a given item is determined, then any member who qualifies and has the minimum amount of raid points for that item’s tier qualifies to roll. The winning roll gets the number of raid points associated to that item’s tier deducted from his or her total. All losing rollers retain their points.

When there is no qualified player with enough raid points at the item’s assigned tier, then the item drops to the next lowest tier (ie 10 rp). Then all players who qualify at that tier get a chance to roll.

The raid leader will keep track of what dropped, take a screenshot, and inspect the winning roller to ensure that it's an upgrade. In addition, if the item won is Bind on Equip, the raid leader will inspect to make sure that the item has been equipped by the winner.

The only time you will be allowed to sell an item you win in a raid is when nobody in the raid can upgrade from it.

EXAMPLE: Hat of Druid Pwnage just dropped. It is a purple set item for Druids. There are 5 druids present at the time the item drops. Druid A has 25 points. Druid B has 53 points. Druid C has 22 points. Druid D has 15 points. Druid E has 2 points. Druids A, B, and C qualify for the roll. Druids A and C roll, but Druid B passes because he already has the Hat of Druid Pwnage. Druid A wins, and 22 raid points are immediately deducted from his total. Druid A puts on his hat, and pwns.

In this example, we see that although Druid C didn’t win, he’s now in a great position to win the next time. He has no competition from Druids A or B, because they both have it. Druids D and E are still a few raids away from qualifying to roll. So the next time a Hat of Druid Pwnage drops, he’s in good shape. Furthermore, he’s also only got 1 competitor for the very next Druid drop in Druid B who still has 53 points. So because Druid C has been contributing steadily at whatever pace he chooses, he has control over his Druidic destiny.

Maximum Points

There should be a point at which player will not earn any more points. This prevents one player from hoarding points and rolling on everything that drops in a single event. This is no fun for anybody else. Therefore the maximum raid points that any one member can accrue is set at 100.

Item Limit

You are limited to one winning roll per event (This will probably be changed to two items when we can complete or almost complete MC since there be alot more item drops then) . This is to avoid a player with a lot of points out-rolling everyone on everything. This does not apply to items not bid on, so for instance, you could win a roll on an item nobody wants to bid for, and still bid on two items later.

Set Item Clause

This rule covers all sets with at least 3 pieces, or more. Whenever someone in the party has all but the last piece of a set (and can prove it by equipping them), then that person should get looting priority on the last piece of the set, so long as the set is designed for their class. Raid Points are not applicable to the acquisition of the last piece of a set, so if someone has been working on a set, they'll get the last piece if it should happen to drop. Getting the last of a set is hard work. This rule does not apply to sets players may work on that are not designed for their class. For instance, if a Mage wants to work on a set designed for a Warlock, then Warlocks should still get priority over the Mage on their set, even if the Mage is on the last piece of the set. Should it come to pass that more than one person is on the same last piece of a set at the same time, then this clause is null and void.

Cost Rule

In this system, items cost points. The only exception is the ‘Set Item Clause.’ You can not, for instance, agree with all of the other Rogues to pass on an item so that it drops to a lower level tier. The Tiers don’t work like that. If you have the points at any given tier, then that is what determines an item’s tier. That is the amount of points you will lose should you decide to roll. The only way to get an item to drop down to a lower tier is when people who want the item don’t have enough points to buy into the lotto at the tier the item starts out at. So, when you say, ‘I pass on this item,’ you really pass. In other words, when you pass, you don’t get it at all. To make sure that no one exploits the system items that no one want to spend dkp on will go to disenchanting.

I am sure people have a lot of input on this and im sure there is potiential problem scenarios not covered here, but we will solve this as soon as possible.

Also note that on the first few raids there will be normal /random 100 since no one will have enough points to actually have an advantage.

We will also have to come up with a way to take care of the people that are denied raiding in mc (for example if we have too many warriors and one warrior can´t come). input is appreciated.

We thought of an addition to this system. It would probably be best if everyone starts att 22 dkp in this system. it would mean the items would be distributet quite evenly from the start, and also server as a "carrot" for new players. But it will delay the benefits of being a very active player.

What do you think about this solusion?

Sounds good but the most important thing imo is that u keep us updated with these kind of things so they dont just appear as they did yesterday (thats what i heard) so now everyone can take a stand some days before and if they dont like it we can discuss what can be done diffrent. Not sure what you meant with tradeskill RP's Myca and about giving people RP's for this in the future.
Complicating is the true path to simplicity.

Think that is about buying points by (for example) giving arcanite bars to the guild to make some uber armor for the main tank.

I think the most important thing is that pick up people know exactly how the loot is distributed before we start.
I ain't leaving without your soul and I am sober this time.
